Leadership Maturity

The Leadership Maturity Profile (MAP) is a robustly researched and validated instrument for measuring vertical development in leaders. Vertical development considers the growth of new perspectives and the increased ability to handle difficulty and complexity. In today’s context, of unprecedented uncertainty and complexity, this type of development has become critical.

Evidence has shown that vertical development can be traced as a logical sequence of eight stages of maturity (depicted below). Each stage is generally more effective than the one before, and leaders are more capable of functioning at an optimum level with more ease in this ever-changing environment.

The MAP Maturity Profile

The MAP will provide leaders with insight as to what stage of maturity they are operating at, as leaders. We work with this as a Map for the leader’s development and to explore ways to build their next level of capability.

We offer this assessment in association with the Vertical Development Academy (VeDA), and it is based on the research of the highly respected Dr Susanne Cook-Greuter. It is regarded as the most reliable measure of adult stage development.

The Assessment Process

The assessment is conducted online, via a secure web application, and usually takes about 45-60 minutes to complete. Once complete, you will receive your MAP Report, which provides a baseline for understanding how you make meaning of the world, your strengths and limitations. You will also receive feedback on your current stage of maturity, what might be next on your development path, and recommendations for navigating through the next 2-5 years of your life.
